CT Urography: Hematuria Evaluation
CT Urography for workup of hematuria
Formerly, imaging evaluation of patients with hematuria consisted of ultrasonography, IVP, and cystoscopy. CT without IV contrast now allows the highest sensitivity and specificity for detection of urinary calculi. CT Urography, or CT IVP, now takes the place of ultrasonography and IVP for urinary tract tumor detection with superior sensitivity and specificity. Currently, CT does not yet replace cystoscopy for most optimal bladder assessment.
CT Urography (with IV contrast) is performed at SDI Diagnostic Imaging in South Tampa and at SDI Diagnostic Imaging in Oldsmar.
